pledge a duck

This week is the big pledge week here at Cornell, from my cynical perspective, it is when all of the insecure freshmen preference a group of insecure upperclassmen, who then in turn either admit or deny those underclass people based upon their own capriciousness. The end result is a larger group of insecure people who are privileged to feel more secure because of their increased company. It has always been a drag to me that a school that is as small as cornell has to be divided up so much more by these ridiculous greek institutions. I feel like it has deprived me of meeting a bunch of interesting people. But I suppose that is the way the cookie was eaten.

When I was a freshmen I remember writing THIS when I first realized that Cornell’s social groups sucked.
