christmas and loaded

I love christmas, and the fact theat I just got home from a wicked party makes it all the better. Being on the tail end of too much wine is never a bad thing, it brings back such fond memory of getting on the short end at my families russian shristmas party how many ever years ago, there really is very little to compare to a frozen bottle of vodka, and don’tlet any one tell you otherwise. Peter and David I will call you soon, you dudes rule. Christmas rocks!

again and again

I have to say it again, I love thomas friedman so fricken much.

Passed

I passed my Certifacation test today, that means I am a professional ski instructor. Whoop.

Sadamy

On my drive to work this morning NPR told me that Saddam had been captured. That makes the world a better place doesn’t it? So what to do with him now becomes the question. How do you arrive at justice fairly when you know the party is guilty? If you put them on trial with a presumption of guilt what is the point of the trial but pomp and circumstance? If you don’t put them on trial it looks like you don’t care about justice. So what does this say about justice? That it is a sham and relative only to whom happens to carry the biggest stick? perhaps. One thing is for sure though, the capture of Saddam will put more stress on the western conception of The Rule of Law than there has been since perhaps NUREMBERG.

Oh and today was day 4 of being on the slopes and it is dumping, yoohoo!

bushed

mmmm God talk in the morning.

LOVE

I had my first full day of work up at the club today and it was perhaps my finest day of employment ever. It was snowing all day long which created a situation of serious private powder. I really had no idea quite what would entice a person to spend the kind of money that it takes to become a member but now I do, it rocks so incredibly much! The fact that today was what is sure to be a long line of days that are off the hook, I am rather psyched. What’s more is that I learned something new about my own skiing, that has not happened since I was in high school, rules so much!

sore legs

Day #2 of my big sky skiing life. Today ripped, I tried to focus on just a couple of runs in hopes of getting a little bit more connected to the mountain. I feel like if I don’t pace myself it may try to swallow me whole. The sun was shining all day, which afforded me a fantastic view of Lone Peak, so huge, so scary, I can’t wait to ride it. That is not true, I can wait, and I will. 15 or so more days of skiing and maybe I will be strong enough to try. w00t.

a new read

A friend just pointed out the book The Real Environmental Crisis: Why Poverty, Not Affluence, Is the Environment’s Number One Enemy
I think it shall be read.

big big times

Today was my first day of skiing at big sky and it was something else. There was a foot and half of new snow and it may have been the lightest stuff I have ever skied. I sank though it like a rock on its way out of an air plane. I really need to think about getting some bigger fatter skis, flotation, flotation, flotation. This mountain is way bigger than I expected, however I think my season pass and I are going to get it covered.

what the EUROS really think.

This is a very good piece about what Europeans really do think about Americans and why, it goes on to say that perhaps what the euros think is erroneous, but still it is a good read.
